Contraband and Searches
Perhaps one of the greatest threats to the safety and security of a correctional facility is the introduction of contraband. Weapons, ammunition, drugs, cell phones, and other items pose a risk to both staff and inmates. Contraband can be used to commit assaults, aid in an escape, and conduct criminal activities. This course examines how to thwart the trafficking of contraband through proper searches of inmates, staff, cells, common areas, and vehicles.
