Certified Professionals
The
following listing contains the names and current credential status
of all the active Certified Corrections Professionals (CCPs). It
provides a method for the verification of certification certificates
issued by the Correctional Certification Program in the following
categories:
CCE = Certified Corrections Executive
CCE/JUV = Certified Corrections Executive/Juvenile
CCM = Certified Corrections Manager
CCM/JUV = Certified Corrections Manager/Juvenile
CCM/STG = Certified Corrections Manager/Security Threat Group
CCN = Certified Corrections Nurse
CCN/M = Certified Corrections Nurse/Manager
CCS = Certified Corrections Supervisor
CCS/JUV = Certified Corrections Supervisor/Juvenile
CCS/STG = Certified Corrections Supervisor/Security Threat Group
CCO = Certified Corrections Officer
CCO/JUV = Certified Corrections Officer/Juvenile
ACA's Online Credential Verification System provides information
regarding the current credential status of all Certified Corrections
Professionals (CCPs). This online verification system serves as a
primary source to verify credentials issued by the American Correctional
Association's Correctional Certification Program. It is the
responsibility of the user to confirm the correct identity of the
individual whose credentials are being verified on this online system
and to avoid confusion between two individuals with similar names. For
cases in which an individual is using a credential that cannot be
verified, and is thus engaged in the 'misuse' of a CCP credential, the
user should e-mail ACA at

ACA's
online verification system provides current status information regarding
the following credentials:

Certified Corrections Executive
(CCE): The Commission on Professional Certification for Corrections
defines a CCE as an individual who: (1) functions at the highest
level in a corrections-related agency and oversees the development
and implementation of policies and procedures; (2) has completed the
minimum of a bachelor’s degree granted by a regionally accredited
college or university OR has a high school diploma/GED
AND at least 10 years of full-time corrections
experience; (3) has a minimum of one year in his/her present
position; (4) has received from his/her immediate supervisor a
"satisfactory" (or better) performance evaluation and is a person in
good standing at his/her workplace; (5) has paid the certification
examination fee; and (6) during the past three years has taken and
earned a grade of at least 75% on one of the following certification
examinations: CCE, CCE/Juvenile OR has become
recertified during the past three years by documenting the
successful completion of a minimum of 100 continuing education
contact hours within a specific three-year reporting period.

Certified Corrections Manager
(CCM): The Commission on Professional Certification for Corrections
defines a CCM as an individual who: (1) manages a major unit or
program in a corrections-related agency, may contribute to the
development of policies and procedures, and are responsible for
their implementation; (2) has completed the minimum of an associate
degree granted by a
regionally accredited college or university OR has a
high school diploma/GED AND at least eight years of
full-time corrections experience; (3) has a minimum of one year in
his/her present position; (4) has received from his/her immediate
supervisor a "satisfactory" (or better) performance evaluation and
is a person in good standing at his/her workplace; (5) has paid the
certification examination fee; and (6) during the past three years
has taken and earned a grade of at least 75% on one of the following
certification examinations: CCM, CCM/Juvenile, CCM/Security Threat
Group, Certified Corrections Nurse/Manager OR has
become recertified during the past three years by documenting the
successful completion of a minimum of 80 continuing education
contact hours within a specific three-year reporting period.

Certified Corrections Supervisor
(CCS): The Commission on Professional Certification for Corrections
defines a CCS as an individual who: (1) works with both staff and
offenders in a corrections-related agency, may contribute to the
development of policies and procedures, is responsible for
implementing agency procedures and supervising/evaluating personnel;
(2) has completed the minimum of an associate degree granted by a
regionally accredited college or university OR
has a high school diploma/GED AND at least five years
of full-time corrections experience; (3) has a minimum of one year
in his/her present position; (4) has received from his/her immediate
supervisor a "satisfactory" (or better) performance evaluation and
is a person in good standing at his/her workplace; (5) has paid the
certification examination fee; and (6) during the past three years
has taken and earned a grade of at least 75% on one of the following
certification examinations: CCS, CCS/Juvenile, CCS/Security Threat
Group, Certified Corrections Nurse OR has become
recertified during the past three years by documenting the
successful completion of a minimum of 60 continuing education
contact hours within a specific three-year reporting period.

Certified Corrections Officer
(CCO): The Commission on Professional Certification for Corrections
defines a CCO as "line" personnel who: (1) work directly with
offenders in a corrections-related agency implementing agency
procedures; (2) has completed a high school diploma/GED; (3) has a
minimum of one year in his/her present position; (4) has received
from his/her immediate supervisor a "satisfactory" (or better)
performance evaluation and is a person in good standing at his/her
workplace; (5) has paid the certification examination fee; and (6)
during the past three years has taken and earned a grade of at least
75% on one of the following certification examinations: CCO,
CCO/Juvenile OR has become recertified during the past
three years by documenting the successful completion of a minimum of
40 continuing education contact hours within a specific three-year
reporting period.
- Emeritus: The Commission on Professional Certification for Corrections defines
a CCP who has been awarded "Life-time" status, as someone who: (1)
has earned a corrections certification credential in one (or more)
of the about four certification categories; and (2) has been a CCP
for 24 years OR has reached the age of 65 AND
has been a CCP for a minimum of six years.

The
Commission on Professional Certification for Corrections provides this
online system as a service to the public.
Users of the system are granted access on
the strict condition of their willingness to agree to and abide by these

data files and the republication, resale, or duplication of the data
in whole or in part.
The Commission on Professional Certification for Corrections will make
every effort to ensure that the information provided through the system
is accurate and current. It cannot, however, guarantee the absolute
accuracy of the information, and all persons using the system do so at
their own risk. In addition, each user assumes the responsibility to
ensure that any information is applicable to the correct individual for
whom verification is sought. Users acknowledge that ACA shall not liable
to users or to any other party, for any decision made or action taken
that relied upon information obtained through this service.
ACA
has the right, in its discretion, to make changes from time to time to
