Grants & Contracts
The Professional Development Department is responsible for writing solicited and unsolicited proposals to the federal, state and private foundations. The funding received through contracts and grants is used to conduct research and to provide training and technical assistance to practitioners in the fields of adult and juvenile corrections.
ACA currently has one active projects:
James E. Gould Memorial for Training and Technical Assistance for Juvenile Corrections and Detention
ACA is the recipient of the James E. Gould Memorial for Training and Technical Assistance for Juvenile Corrections and Detention Grant. This grant was awarded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). Under the grant, ACA:
- provides training and technical assistance to personnel in juvenile correctional facilities, detention centers, and community residential and nonresidential programs.
- hosts the National Juvenile Corrections and Detention Forum.
- provides workshops, conferences, publications, and resource materials in the areas of probation, detention, corrections, and community residential and aftercare programs.
Administers technical assistance and resource information.
The grant has a juvenile video library that will loan juvenile justice related videos to juvenile correctional professionals to conduct training and technical assistance. For more information go to the Juvenile Video Library.
