Online Courses Eligible for College Credits
As a result of partnerships established by ACA and Excelsior College, students who successfully complete OCA courses can earn academic credits. If you wish to transfer credits from one educational institution to another, you must appeal to the Registrar or the Administration of the institution where you wish to transfer the credits and complete the following steps.

Step 1

Successfully complete and pass all the courses in the series, read the required book(s), and pass the comprehensive exam with a score of 80% or higher.

Step 2

Request a training verification letter and transcript letter from ACA. First, download a copy of the “Request for Training Verification Letter and Transcript” form, complete it, and mail it to the ACA’s Professional Development Department c/o OCA . Please print clearly on the form. If you have completed your courses prior to the year 2000, you must send copies of your certificates along with the form.

Once your course work is verified, ACA will send the letter of training verification and the transcript to the college/university in a sealed envelope. A copy of the letter of training verification and transcript will be sent to you on the same day.

Note: The verification of your course work will take no more than two weeks from the date ACA receives this form.

Step 3

Download a copy of ACA's “Course Descriptions” and the ACA’s “Site Visit Report,” which are under the “Directory of CJTA Credit Excelsior Recommendations.” These documents will show that the courses were recommended for college credits and will identify the course objectives and other components that need to be reviewed by the college or university

Step 4

When you receive a copy of the transcript and letter confirming your training, you must then send a copy of the Site Visit Report and the Course Descriptions to the college or university.

Note: Accepting college credits from another academy, college, or university is at the discretion of the receiving institution.
