updates ACA’s entire collection of adult and juvenile
standards manuals with every addition, deletion, revision
and/or interpretation approved by the ACA Standards
Committee and the Commission on Accreditation for
Corrections through August 2007. Changes from past
supplements are also incorporated, and a summary of changes
is included to allow users to quickly identify the changes
that affect their operations. In addition, the supplement
includes guidelines for institution security levels,

the Trenches: A Manual for Wardens by Wardens, Second
Edition offers invaluable guidance and
answers to the challenges that present themselves to you
every day. Created by the North American Association of
Wardens and Superintendents (NAAWS), this manual is a

Readers will find a variety of lessons and opinions in these
essays. The entries reflect the unique realities of each
institution and the procedural flexibility needed to deal
with them. A View from the Trenches is a well-rounded

Just
because an offender is no longer incarcerated, it does not
mean the correctional system’s job is done. The latest entry
in the What Works series,
Research Into Practice:
Bridging the Gap in Community Corrections,
is based
on research from the 2005 and 2006
International Community Corrections Association (ICCA)
meetings. This resource covers a wide array of topics
related to community corrections for practitioners and those
with a general interest in the criminal justice system. The
essays address the assessment of offenders; correctional
treatment and programming; principles that drive effective
case management; families, communities and offender reentry;
and strategies and promising modalities for dealing with
behavioral and mental health disorders in correctional
populations and in the larger arena of criminal justice.
This is a must-have for anyone in community corrections.
Research Into Practice, item #337-OTL, is available for
$34.95.
