138th
Congress of Correction
Hopefully, you are making plans to join
us at the 138th Congress of Correction in New Orleans, Aug.
8-13. Many exciting events are planned for this congress and
many educational opportunities will be available.
From Saturday, Aug. 9, through
Wednesday, Aug. 13, you will be able to participate in
training and earn valuable CEUs in the process. We will be
offering a variety of treatment and security workshops, and
the Healthcare Professional Interest Section (H-PIS) will
continue to move forward. For those of you in the medical
field, there will once again be an opportunity to earn CME/CE
credits.
At Monday morning’s General Session,
our keynote speaker will be Archie Manning, former NFL star
and father of Peyton Manning and Eli Manning, the MVPs of
the past two Super Bowls. The E.R. Cass Correctional
Achievement Award Banquet will be held on Tuesday night.
This year, Rev. Anthony J. Bruno of Connecticut and Art
Leonardo of New York are the awardees. Following these
presentations, attendees will be entertained by New Orleans
favorites Irma Thomas and Lil Fats.
Conference Planning Guides were mailed
in April that highlight the program format, hotel
accommodations and travel procedures. If you would like more
