Corrections Deputy candidates

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office has opportunities for Corrections Deputy candidates to fill entry level and lateral transfer positions.

Due to the mixed gender jail population, the Sheriff’s Office would like to increase the representation of female Corrections Deputies. Women interested in this field of work are encouraged to apply.

Corrections deputies provide intake and release services for inmates, maintain order, and provide security at the Clark County Main Jail and Jail Work Center. Corrections deputies are responsible for the around-the-clock operation of the jail and must be available to work all shifts – day, swing and grave – as assigned, including weekends and holidays.

Clark County Sheriff’s Office values the ethical characteristics of trustworthiness, responsibility, respect, fairness, caring and citizenship, and we are looking for applicants who share and uphold these characteristics while carrying out their assigned duties. The commitment to retain and promote from within are reflected in the long-term quality staff that are entrusted with a unified message of safety and community improvement.

APPLICANTS MUST TEST THROUGH PUBLIC SAFETY TESTING BEFORE PROCEEDING TO THE NEXT STEP IN THE RECRUITMENT.
(Lateral candidates are exempt from the PAT requirement)
