The Jail Administrator oversees the Durham County Detention Facility by leading, planning, organizing, and directing a staff of 231 employees with a budget of $15.9M. Requires either a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities and extensive experience in law enforcement or detention services with five years of progressive management and executive-level leadership experience. The hiring range is 95,000 to $125,000. The selected candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a valid North Carolina driver’s license. There is a residency requirement to relocate within 35 miles to the Durham County Sheriff’s Office within 12 months of employment.
